On February 11, 2015, Artisan Childcare Center unexpectedly lost a beloved teacher. Monica Rodrigues was a founding member of the staff at Artisan and was respected and loved by parents and coworkers alike. Her passion for working with children was evident in every project she designed, every song she sang and every hug she gave. Monica touched the lives of countless families during her time at Artisan, many of whom gave touching feedback upon her passing.

"Our family has such fond memories of Monica. She was Ty's first teacher in the infant classroom and from day one we could feel that she loved and cared for Ty as if he was her own child. In those first few months, she was instrumental not only in helping Ty transition to school, but in supporting Dan and I as we navigated the challenges of first-time parenthood. Her warm smile and sense of calm was always reassuring and Ty thrived in her care."

"Jack and Monica were like two peas in a pod and we are ever so grateful to have had someone like her with our baby. We couldn't have picked a better person to love and support our Jack as he grew from tiny baby to toddler. We're also so very thankful that we got a picture with Monica and Jack at one of the picnics. This is something we will always treasure."
